So, I went out to play tennis again today, nothing fancy, just wanted to hit some balls. I have been playing for a bit, but I am still kind of new to this game. I think I’m at the 2.5 level, or maybe 3.0, I don’t know. It’s just a number, right?
I started by finding a court. That’s always the first step. Once I found one, I did some warm-up, just to get the blood flowing. Stretching, you know, the usual stuff. It’s important not to pull a muscle or something.
Then I started hitting some balls against the wall. I was just trying to get a feel for the ball and find my rhythm. I tried to keep the ball in play, focusing on my footwork and swing. I wasn’t aiming for power or anything, just consistency.
After a while, some other people showed up. They looked like they knew what they were doing. We started with some easy rallies, just trying to keep the ball going back and forth. It was pretty slow-paced, but that’s okay. I am still learning where the ball is going, so I can’t really keep up with fast rallies yet.
As we played more, I noticed that I was getting better at judging the ball’s trajectory. My court coverage is still not great, but I’m getting there. I tried to hit the ball back, aiming for the open space when I saw it, but that was not always easy.
The Difference Between 2.5 and 3.0
I don’t think there is a huge difference between 2.5 and 3.0 at this point, it’s just that I can play in some low-level matches and hold my own. It is hard to say. The other players, they seemed more consistent than me. They could place the ball better and had more power. I still struggle with that sometimes. When I play with others at my level, we can have some decent rallies. It feels good to hit the ball and see it go where I want it to. But we all make mistakes, and that’s fine. That’s how you learn.
- 2.5 Level:
- Still learning to judge where the ball is going.
- Court coverage is weak.
- Can sustain short, slow-paced rallies.
- Starting to get the basics down.
- 3.0 Level:
- More consistent in hitting the ball.
- Better court coverage.
- Can handle slightly faster rallies.
- Fairly consistent with players of the same level.
Overall, it was a good day of tennis. I had fun, got some exercise, and learned a few things. I am getting better each time I play, and that’s all that matters. I just need more experience on the court.
I am planning to play more often. Maybe I will even join a league or take some lessons. Who knows? The important thing is to keep playing and keep improving. And most importantly, to have fun.
