Okay, so, today I wanted to share something a bit different – my little adventure digging into the 2018-19 Kentucky Wildcats basketball roster. You know, sometimes you just get curious about these things.
First off, I started by just looking around the internet to see what I could find. I was basically trying to piece together who played for Kentucky that year, what their stats were, and all that jazz. I found some information about the women’s team having 3x SEC Champions, but that wasn’t what I was looking for.
So I did a bit more searching, and I stumbled upon some interesting names. There was this Karl-Anthony Towns, who apparently played center/forward and later ended up with the New York Knicks. And I saw this Oscar Tshiebwe, a forward/center who was on a two-way contract with the Utah Jazz. Then, there was Jarred Vanderbilt, a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers. I also found a guard named Cason Wallace. I mean these guys are all over the NBA now, but I wanted to see what the deal was back in 2018-19 at Kentucky.
After more looking, I found a few game schedules, like, they played against Transylvania and IUP, winning both games, and then they had a tough loss against Duke in the Champions Classic. It was 84-118. That is a big loss. I was starting to get a sense of how their season was going, but I still needed that full roster.
Then I found this one page that just listed the 2018 Kentucky Wildcats Basketball team roster. Bingo! That’s what I was looking for, but it didn’t really give me any details. I kept searching.
Finally, I found this website, and it had a detailed breakdown of the starting lineups for the 2018-19 Kentucky Wildcats. It was pretty cool to see it all laid out like that. They had the players’ positions and everything. I also saw a news that two new guards, Acaden Lewis and Jasper Johnson were signed in the class of 2025, but I’m not sure if they were related.
It was a bit of a hunt, but it was fun to dig into the 2018-19 Kentucky Wildcats roster and see where some of these guys ended up. It’s like putting together a little puzzle, you know?
