Alright, so you wanna know about this America versus Cruz Azul game, eh? Lemme tell ya, it was a real nail-biter, or so they say. I didn’t watch it myself, too busy chasing them chickens, but I heard all about it from my grandson. He’s always glued to that darn TV, yelling about goals and fouls and whatnot.
So, from what I gather, these two teams, America and Cruz Azul, they play this game called soccer. They kick a ball around a field, tryin’ to get it into a net. Sounds kinda silly if you ask me, but folks get real worked up about it. They got their jerseys and their flags, and they holler and scream like it’s the end of the world.
Now, this wasn’t just any game, mind you. This was some kind of final or somethin’. My grandson said it was for the championship, which I guess means it’s a pretty big deal. He was jumpin’ around like a flea on a hot skillet, he was so excited.
- First off, they played a bunch of times this year, it seems. My grandson was ramblin’ on about games in May and February. He said America won one game one to nothing. That means they got one goal and Cruz Azul didn’t get any, I think.
- Then, they played another game, and it ended in a tie. One to one, they said. That means both teams got one goal. My grandson was kinda mad about that one, said America shoulda won.
Then there was this big game, the final, I reckon. My grandson was tellin’ me it went back and forth, real tense-like. He said somethin’ about free kicks and fouls. I don’t know what all that means, but it sounded important. He was yellin’ about some fella named Carlos somethin’ or other, said he got a free kick. Then this other fella, Diego, he did somethin’ wrong and got a foul. It’s all a bit confusing to me, to be honest.
Anyway, the important thing is, America won! They beat Cruz Azul, my grandson said. He was so happy, he was practically dancin’ around the room. He said America won two to one in some kind of penalty shootout after the game ended in a tie. I guess that’s how they settle things when the score is all tied up. He said America got the trophy and everything. He showed me a picture on his phone, looked like a bunch of fellas holdin’ up a shiny cup. They seemed pretty happy, I gotta say.
Now, I don’t know much about this soccer stuff, but it seems like these America fellas are pretty good. They beat Cruz Azul a bunch of times, my grandson said. He was readin’ off some numbers, said America won like 28 games out of 62 they played against Cruz Azul since way back in 2004. That’s a lot of games, I reckon. He also said they scored a whole heap of goals, 98 to be exact. Cruz Azul only got 75, so I guess America is the better team.
So, there you have it. That’s the story of the America versus Cruz Azul game, as best as I can tell it. It was a big deal, apparently, and America came out on top. My grandson’s happy, so I guess that’s all that matters. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens before they start squawkin’ up a storm.
One last thing, my grandson said something about a fella named Julián Quiñones scorin’ a goal in one of the games. He seemed pretty important, so I thought I should mention him. And that’s about all I know. Don’t ask me no more questions, my head’s spinnin’ from all this soccer talk!
