Okay, here’s the blog post about my experience with Avon Old Farms Ice Hockey, written in the style you requested:
So, I’ve been getting into prep school hockey lately, and let me tell you, it’s a whole different world. I recently dug into Avon Old Farms, and man, these guys are serious about their hockey. They’re like a powerhouse up there in New England.
First off, I tried to figure out their schedule for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. Their website says to enter through the South Entrance, not the main one. Alright, I got it. I wrote that down so I wouldn’t mess that up when I go.
Then I looked into their programs. They have these LTS, DP, and MIH things, all at their rink, the Jennings Fairchild Hockey Rink. I learned about the Combined IH Program, and it sounds intense, using their rink and some others nearby. Seems pretty cool for someone who loves hockey.
I read that they won some big championship last March, beating Cushing 3-1. That’s a big deal in the prep hockey scene. I also found out they’ve been winning a lot in the past few years. They won the Elite 8 championship in 2023, that is a huge deal. Impressive, right? These guys are on fire! Since 2019-20, they won 92 games, lost 12, and tied 5. They are really good at ice hockey. Their record is insane.
The Alumni
And get this, they’ve got some famous alumni. We’re talking NHL Hall of Famer Brian Leetch and LA Kings goalie Jonathan Quick. Both Stanley Cup winners and Conn Smythe Trophy winners. I mean, that’s huge! I found out their history through the internet, and jotted down these two players’ names.
They play in the Founders League, which sounds pretty fancy. They compete against teams like Choate, Hotchkiss, and a bunch of others. I made a list of these teams, pretty tough competition.
It’s been a wild ride learning about Avon Old Farms hockey. I started by just looking up their schedule, and now I’m deep into their history, their players, and their league. It’s pretty clear they’re a force to be reckoned with in the prep hockey world.
- Checked out their schedule for 2024-2025.
- Learned about their different hockey programs.
- Read up on their recent championship wins.
- Discovered some of their famous NHL alumni.
- Made a list of teams in their league.
This whole thing has been a blast. I’m definitely going to keep an eye on these guys. Maybe I’ll even catch a game sometime. If you’re into hockey, you should check them out too. They’re the real deal.
