Okay, so I decided to sign up for the Babson Field Hockey Camp. I’d heard good things, and my kid is really into field hockey, so, why not, right?
First things first, I headed to their website to register. It was pretty straightforward. I filled out all the forms – you know, the usual: name, age, experience level, emergency contact, all that jazz. Clicked submit, and boom, we were registered.
Getting Ready
- Packed the essentials: sticks, shin guards, mouthguard, water bottle – the whole nine yards.
- Made sure we had plenty of sunscreen. Summer camp, you know? Gotta stay protected.
- Checked the camp schedule. They sent it over email, so I just printed it out for easy reference.
- Double-checked everything was in order the night before. Don’t wanna be rushing around in the morning!
Camp Time!
We arrived at Babson, and it was buzzing with activity. Lots of other kids and parents, all excited for the day. We checked in, got a camp t-shirt, and found our group. The coaches were super friendly and energetic, which was great.
They started with some warm-up drills. Basic stuff, but important to get the muscles going. Then they moved into stick work – passing, dribbling, shooting. My kid was loving it! They learned some new techniques and got to practice with other players at their level.
Lunch was provided, which was a nice touch. Gave everyone a chance to refuel and chat. Then it was back to the field for more drills and some scrimmage games. That was probably the highlight – getting to put all those skills into action.
At the end of the day, everyone was tired but happy. My kid made some new friends and improved their field hockey skills. All in all, a successful camp experience. I’d definitely recommend it!
