Okay, so I saw this “basketball necktie” thing online and thought, “Huh, that’s… different.” I figured, why not give it a shot? It might be fun for a casual Friday or a themed party or something. I am not a very fashionable person, so I will probably fail in a lot of places.
Finding a Tie and a Basketball
First things first, I needed a tie. I dug through my closet and found an old, plain blue one that I didn’t really care about. Perfect for experimenting!
Then came the basketball. I didn’t want to use a real, full-sized one – way too bulky. I found a miniature basketball, the kind you might find that hangs on the rear-view mirror of a car, it’s a good thing I kept it.
The Process
Honestly, the whole thing was kind of trial and error.
- I started by laying the tie flat on the table.
- I placed the mini basketball on top of the tie.
- Then I tried to fold the tie into the shape of a small ball.
- I spent a lot of time adjusting and re-adjusting to get the miniature basketball more secure.
It was definitely fiddly. I used some tape to hold parts of the tie together, keeping the ball firmly wrapped.
The Result
Well, it looked… interesting. Let’s just say it wasn’t exactly high fashion. It was more “craft project gone slightly wrong” than “stylish accessory.” But hey, it was a basketball necktie, more or less! I mean, you could tell what it was supposed to be, which is a win in my book.
I wore it around the house for a bit, just to see how it felt. It was surprisingly comfortable, though I wouldn’t recommend wearing it for a long time. It kept getting loose and I kept having to tighten it.
Overall, it was a fun little experiment. Would I wear it out in public? Maybe to a very, very casual event. Or maybe just to get a laugh. It’s definitely a conversation starter!
