Okay, so I’ve been digging into Belgium women’s basketball stats lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. I wanted to put together a solid resource, and it took some work, but here is my way.
Scraping the Data
First things first, I needed to find the data. This wasn’t as easy as I’d hoped. There are some good sites, but you have to find them on your own. There’s no all-in-one perfect solution. So, I started to find some data in my way.
I opened a few basketball statistics websites, started going through the pages, and looked for the Belgian team and their players. It took some clicking, but I eventually got to the good stuff.
Cleaning it Up
Once I had the data, I had to get it into shape. Because data will look very messy. It often comes with a lot of extra stuff I didn’t need, so a lot of manual copying and pasting. I just wanted the core stats: points, rebounds, assists, that sort of thing.
I basically spent a good chunk of time just cleaning up the data in a spreadsheet. It wasn’t glamorous, but it had to be done. Removing extra columns, fixing inconsistencies, you name it.
Putting It All Together
With the clean data, I could finally start doing something with it. I wanted to be able to see trends, like who the top scorers were, who was improving over time, and things like that.
So, I started making some simple tables. Nothing too fancy, just organized in a way that made sense to me. I made one big table with all the players and their key * I grouped them.
I also made some notes about where the data came from, just so I could keep track of everything.
It was a bit of a process, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Now, I have a solid resource for Belgium women’s basketball stats that I can refer back to anytime. It’s not perfect, but it’s a heck of a lot better than what I started with!
