Alright, so you wanna know about this Belmont Hill hockey team, eh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know. It ain’t gonna be fancy, but it’ll be straight.
First off, they got a bunch of teams. Varsity, Junior Varsity, and some other ones with numbers. Sounds like a lot of boys playin’ hockey over there. They got a big ol’ rink, too. Big as one of them Olympic rinks, they say. Must be somethin’ to see.
Now, about them players… they got some fellas that go on to play in college, ya know? Fancy places like Princeton and Yale. Even heard some go on to play in that NHL thing, the big leagues! That’s somethin’, ain’t it?
This year’s team, the 2024-25 one, they got a roster, a list of players. I seen some names, but I can’t remember ’em all. You wanna know who’s playin’, you gotta find that roster. I heard tell of a captain, Jake McManus. He’s the leader, the one the boys look up to. Been hearin’ about him for a while now, seems like he’s been playin’ there a good long time.
- They had a team last year, too. The 2023-24 team. McManus was captain then too. Good player, that one.
- And even the year before that, the 22-23 team. Seen some names on that list too… Keagin Wilson, Mike Brown, Grant Litchfield. Wonder where them boys are now.
This coach, Brian Phinney, he’s the head honcho for the varsity team. Started in 2021, they say. Came from some place called Middlebury. Guess he knows his hockey, seein’ as how good them Belmont Hill boys are.
They play in somethin’ called the ISL and New England. Sounds important. Guess they play against other fancy schools. I bet them games are somethin’ to watch. Lots of fast skatin’ and puck shootin’, I reckon.
I hear there’s places you can go to see scores and reports and all that. Places that keep track of all the games and who’s doin’ what. If you’re real interested, you gotta find them places. They got all the details, more than this old lady can remember.
This Belmont Hill hockey… it’s a big deal, it seems. Lots of good players, good coach, and they play in big leagues. If you got a boy who likes hockey, maybe you should try and get him on that team. But it ain’t easy, I bet. Gotta be real good to play with them fellas.
So there ya have it. That’s what I know about the Belmont Hill hockey team. Ain’t much, but it’s honest. You want more, you gotta go look it up yourself. Just remember, that Jake McManus fella, he’s the captain, and that Brian Phinney, he’s the coach. And them Belmont Hill boys, they’re darn good hockey players.
Anyways I heard this team’s got a good reputation. Folks say the hockey program is real good. They been around a long time too, so they must be doin somethin right. I think they take their hockey pretty serious over there at Belmont Hill. It ain’t just some game to them, you know? They got a whole program, like them fellers in college do.
Now, I don’t know a whole heap about hockey myself. Never played it, that’s for sure. But I do know when folks are talkin’ about something good, and this Belmont Hill hockey seems to be somethin’ good. They got banners hangin’, I heard. That means they win a lot, I reckon.
