So, I’ve been trying to get back into shape, and what better way than shooting some hoops? Today’s mission: an “international friendly basketball” game. Sounds fancy, right?
First things first, I gathered my crew. I texted a bunch of friends – some local, some from different countries who happened to be in town. It was a surprisingly diverse group!
Finding a Court
Next up, finding a court. This was trickier than I thought. The usual park I go to had a kids’ league game going on. I checked a couple of other parks nearby, finally found one that was free. It wasn’t the best – the net was a bit ripped, and the lines were faded – but hey, it was available!
The Game
- We split into two teams, trying to make it somewhat “international” vs. “local,” but it ended up pretty mixed.
- Honestly, the skill levels were all over the place. Some guys were clearly experienced, others (like me) were just trying not to trip over our own feet.
- It’s have a fun.
- We played for a good hour, maybe an hour and a half. Lots of running, lots of missed shots, and plenty of laughs.
Wrapping Up
We ended the game when it started getting dark, and everyone was pretty exhausted. No official scorekeeping, just a good, fun run. We grabbed some water, chatted for a bit, and promised to do it again soon.
It wasn’t exactly a professional-level international friendly, but it was definitely friendly, and it involved people from different places. Mission accomplished, I guess! My legs are already sore, but it was totally worth it.
