Yo, what’s up, guys! Today, I wanna share my experience with “blacktop basketball”. It was a sunny Saturday, and I was itching to get some hoops in.
Finding a Court
First things first, I needed a court. I drove around my neighborhood, checking out a few local parks. Some were packed, some had those sad, bent rims, you know the ones?
Finally, I found this gem – a smooth, blacktop court with fresh paint and nets that actually swished. It was game time!
Getting a Game Going
Now, I was solo, so I needed some players. I started shooting around, just getting a feel for the court, hoping someone would show up.
- After about 15 minutes, a couple of guys walked over, and we started a little 2-on-1.
- Then, a few more people showed up, and we had enough for a full 5-on-5 game. Perfect!
The Game Itself
Man, the game was intense! We played for a solid two hours, non-stop. I was running, jumping, shooting, and even got a few nice blocks. Blacktop is unforgiving – every fall, every scrape, you feel it. But that’s part of the fun, right?
My shots were a bit off at first, kept clanking off the rim. That’s something need to work on it. But I made up with some good passing and defense. It’s all for fun!
Wrapping Up
We finally called it quits when the sun started setting. Everyone was exhausted, drenched in sweat, but with big smiles. We exchanged a few “good games” and headed our separate ways. It was a great way to run!
So yeah, that was my blacktop basketball experience for the day. It was a blast – the competition, the exercise, the feeling of community. If you’re looking for a fun, free way to get active, I highly recommend hitting up a blacktop court near you. Just be ready to hustle!
