Alright, so you wanna know about this Atlantic Cup tennis thing in Boston, huh? Lemme tell ya what I heard. They gonna have it in 2024, that’s what they sayin’. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a tennis match, far as I can tell.
Now, they tellin’ me it’s gonna be in the fall. Fall, y’know, when the leaves start turnin’ and it gets a bit chilly. These city folks, they like to do things in the fall, I guess. So, this Atlantic Cup, it ain’t just Boston. It’s a bunch of cities gettin’ together, playin’ tennis. Like, Boston, New York City, Philly… and some other place, I forget.
Heard tell it’s the LGBT tennis groups. Don’t rightly know what that means, but they like their tennis, just like everyone else. They been doin’ this for a while now, seems like. Every year, they go to a different city, hit them balls around.
This year, 2024, it’s Boston’s turn. And they gonna have it at that Harvard place. You know, the college? Fancy place, I bet. Got a tennis center there, Beren Tennis Center, they call it. Sounds big, probably got lots of them tennis courts.
They playin’ in August, end of August. The 24th and 25th, Saturday and Sunday. Long days, too. Startin’ at 9 in the mornin’ and goin’ all the way till 9 at night on Saturday. Sunday, they quit a little earlier, 5 o’clock, they say. “Hard stop” they call it. Guess they gotta go home sometime, huh?

They got captains and all, just like a real team. Heard ’bout this fella, Rob Treadway, captain for DC one year. They won, I think. See, these city folks, they take their tennis serious. They even got a champion every year. Sounds like a big to-do.
So, if you’re in Boston that weekend, and you like watchin’ tennis, go on down to Harvard. See what all the fuss is about. Me? I’ll stick to watchin’ the squirrels in my backyard. Less runnin’ around.
Anyway, that’s all I know about this Atlantic Cup tennis schedule in Boston for 2024. Just a bunch of folks hittin’ balls, far as I can see. But they seem to like it, so good for them.
I heard tell they had it in New York City once, at the Cary Leeds Tennis Center in the Bronx. That was in 2018. They go all over the place, these tennis folks. Must be nice to travel around, seein’ different places. But I’m happy right here, thank you very much.
So, remember, August 24th and 25th, Harvard University, Beren Tennis Center. That’s the Atlantic Cup 2024. Go watch if you want, or don’t. Makes no difference to me.
