Alright, so you wanna know ’bout this fella, Cameron Clark, huh? Sounds like a fancy name, like one of them movie stars. But this fella ain’t no actor, no sirree. He’s a basketball player, plays with that big orange ball, you know?
Now, they tell me he was born in 1991, September 16th, in a place called Phoenix. Hot place, that Phoenix. Don’t know why anyone’d want to live in a place so hot, but that’s where he come from. Guess it made him tough, playing basketball in all that heat.
He went to college, this Cameron fella. Oklahoma, they say. Played basketball there too, of course. And he was good, real good. Scored a lot of points, grabbed a lot of them rebounds. Don’t rightly know what a rebound is, but sounds important. They say he shot the ball real well too, 46 percent from the floor, whatever that means. And somethin’ ’bout 43 percent from “behind,” guess that means he was good at throwin’ that ball from far away.
But then, the NBA draft come around, and wouldn’t you know it, nobody picked him. Undrafted, they call it. Must’ve been a real kick in the teeth for the boy. But he didn’t give up, no sir. He went and played in the Summer League, with the Los Angeles Clippers. Big city team, them Clippers.
- Then he went off to play all over the place.
- Heard tell of him playin’ in places like the Philippines.
- And Hong Kong.
- Even went to some places with funny names, like “East Asia Super League” and “PBA”.
And he played in Europe too! Germany, I think it was. Signed with a team called Ratiopharm Ulm, whatever that is. Then another one, EWE Baskets Oldenburg. Sounds like somethin’ you’d carry eggs in, but I guess it’s a basketball team.
Now, how big is this fella? Well, they say he weighs 209 pounds. That’s a fair bit, I reckon. But is he famous? Is he in that Hall of Fame thingy? Nope, not yet anyways. Maybe someday, if he keeps playin’ that basketball.
