Well, lookie here, talkin’ ’bout this Carter Amico fella, the hockey boy. Don’t know much ’bout these sports things, but they tell me he’s somethin’ special. Born in 2007, so he’s just a young’un, ain’t he? But they say he’s out there skatin’ and hittin’ that puck like nobody’s business.
From Westbrook, that’s where he’s from. Heard it’s up in Maine, cold place, gotta be tough to grow up there. Makes sense he plays that ice game, gotta be used to the cold. They say he’s a big fella, 6’5″ they tell me. That’s a whole lotta boy! Big and strong, gotta be to push them fellas around on the ice.

- Played for the U.S. National U18 Development Program, big words for a buncha kids playin’ hockey, I reckon.
Now, they’re talkin’ ’bout him goin’ to the NHL, the big leagues. Draftin’ him they say, in 2025. Don’t know much ’bout draftin’, sounds like pickin’ folks outta a lineup or somethin’. But if they’re pickin’ him, he must be good, right?
They say he’s a “shutdown defenseman”, makes me think he stops them other fellas from scorin’. Keeps that puck outta the net, that’s important, right? Gotta keep them other fellas from winnin’ if you wanna be the best.
And he’s committed to the Terriers, whatever they are. Sounds like a dog, but I guess it’s a team. Boston University they call it, fancy place. He’s gonna be playin’ there, learnin’ more ’bout this hockey thing.
People are watchin’ this Carter boy, seein’ if he’s gonna be a star. Me? I don’t know nothin’ ’bout it. But if they’re talkin’ ’bout him, he must be doin’ somethin’ right. Just a kid from Maine, playin’ hockey, tryin’ to make somethin’ of himself.
They say he could “rise in the rankings” as the season goes on. Rankings? Sounds like puttin’ people in order, like pickin’ the best tomatoes in the garden. Gotta be the ripest, the biggest, the bestest one. Guess they wanna see if he’s gonna be the bestest hockey player.
He’s a “right-shot”, whatever that means. Guess it matters when you’re hittin’ that puck around. And they say he’s a “shutdown” player, keeps them other fellas from scorin’. Sounds like he’s playin’ defense, keepin’ his team safe.
So this Carter Amico fella, he’s the one they’re watchin’. Young kid, big boy, playin’ hockey. Gonna be interestin’ to see where he ends up. Maybe he’ll be one of them famous hockey stars, who knows? Just gotta keep skatin’ and hittin’ that puck, that’s all there is to it, I reckon.
