Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into the local hockey scene, and everyone’s been talking about this “Cats Academy Hockey” thing. Figured I’d give it a shot and see what the hype is all about. Here’s how it went down, step-by-step:
First Steps: Finding the Info
First, I googled “Cats Academy Hockey”. Found some basic info, looked like they had different programs and skill levels, so far so good.
Digging Deeper
I spent some time browsing the schedules, trying to figure out which one would fit my schedule. They had practices, training and games etc. I focused on finding something beginner-friendly, and select a suitable time for myself.
Signing Up
Then I found the “Contact” area, they had an email, So, I drafted a quick email, introducing myself, my (lack of) experience, and asking about available programs. Hit send and waited.
The Waiting Game
It took a few days, but I finally got a reply! They were super friendly and suggested I come down to check out the beginner course. They even offered a free trial session. Sweet!
Gearing Up (or Not)
Now, I didn’t have any gear. But I figured, for a trial, I should be fine with just some sports gear. I did make sure to wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt, just in case of a fall on the ice(or on the ground?).
The Trial Session
I showed up on the date and time. Met the coach, who was really chill and explained everything. There were a few other newbies, so I didn’t feel too out of place.
- We started with some basic stretching and warm-up exercises.
- Then, they showed us some handling the stick.
- Finally, we did some simple drills.
It was tiring, but honestly, a lot of fun! I even managed to pass the ball a couple of times without falling over.
The Decision
After the session, the coach talked about the different packages and practice times. it seemed pretty reasonable. And given how much I enjoyed the trial,I decided to join in the beginner course!
The Aftermath
Now I’m officially part of the Cats Academy Hockey program. I’ll need to get some proper gear, but for now, I’m just excited to keep learning and (hopefully) improve my skills. It’s a great workout, and the people are really nice. Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re even slightly curious!
