Alright, so I wanted to make a cool poster for my room, and I’m a huge Oregon Ducks football fan. Figured I’d give it a shot myself instead of buying one. Here’s how it went down:
Brainstorming and Gathering
First, I spent some time just thinking about what I wanted the poster to look like. I knew I wanted the classic Ducks colors, green and yellow, obviously. I also looked up some old game photos and vintage posters online for inspiration, to get the creative juices flowing, you know?
The Design Process
Next, I opened up a simple design program. I’m not a pro designer or anything, so I didn’t need anything fancy. I started with a basic green background. Then I found a few good action shots of Ducks players – a running back breaking a tackle, a wide receiver making a diving catch, the usual stuff. I played around with the layout, moving the images around, resizing them, and trying out different arrangements until I found something I liked.
- Added a Bold, blocky “OREGON DUCKS” text across the top.
- Experimented with different fonts. I tried to find somthing I liked.
- Included the team logo, I just download it from somewhere.
- Made some final color and position.
Printing and Display
Once I was finally happy with the design, I saved the file. I took to printing shop near my home. I talked to the guy at the print shop, and we picked out a good, thick paper stock that would make the colors really pop. He printed a test copy, and after I made a couple of tiny adjustments, we printed the final version. It looks pretty good, and the colors are great, I got it hung up on my wall, and it’s the perfect addition to my room!
