Okay, so, a few days ago, I wanted to play some tennis. But I ran into a small problem – I didn’t know where to find a court near me. First, I thought about asking around at local clubs, but some of them, especially the fancy ones, are not really into letting just anyone use their courts if you’re not a member.
So, I went online. I tried typing in my location into a search engine to see what popped up. There were actually quite a few options. I started filtering the results. I looked for things like the type of court, and whether they were even available when I wanted to play. It was kind of a pain, to be honest.
Then I stumbled upon some mobile apps and websites. Apparently, there are online booking systems specifically for this. You can book a court at your local club right through the app! That sounded pretty convenient, so I downloaded one.
I messed around with the app for a bit. It seemed easy enough to use, but then I found out that to guarantee a court, I had to reserve it through something called iParcs. I had to make an account and log in, which was a little annoying. Plus, there was a small fee, like 3 to 5 bucks an hour. And get this, you had to book at least three days in advance, but no more than 90 days. Kind of weird, right?
Anyway, after jumping through all these hoops, I finally managed to reserve a court.
- Step 1: Looked around at local clubs, but some are picky about non-members.
- Step 2: Searched online using my location, filtered results by court type and availability.
- Step 3: Found some mobile apps and websites with online booking systems.
- Step 4: Downloaded an app, but had to create an account with iParcs to guarantee a court.
- Step 5: Paid a small fee and booked a court at least three days in advance.
It wasn’t the smoothest process, but hey, at least I got to play. And, by the way, I learned that the “deuce court” is just your right side of the court. Who knew?
