Okay, so today I wanna talk about my day messing around with tennis at Coppin State University. It all started when I stumbled upon some info about their tennis schedule online. I saw they had both men’s and women’s teams, which got me curious. There are some schedules of 2023-24 Men’s Tennis and 2021-22 Women’s Tennis.
First thing I did was check out their social media. I found their Instagram page, coppinsports, with a decent following – 602 followers and 590 following. Not bad, right? I scrolled through their feed and saw a post from August 27th with 162 likes and 32 comments. Seemed like they had some engagement going on.
Then, I dug into their actual schedule. I noticed a mix of dates and opponents. For example, the men’s team had an event called the “Bedford Cup” from September 22nd to 23rd, 2023. That sounded pretty serious. The women’s team had a match against Mount St. Mary’s on February 3rd, 2022, in Emmitsburg. They also had a match scheduled against Saint Joseph’s on February 13th, 2021, but the time was TBA which was a bit vague.
I also looked into the academic calendar. I figured this might give me some insight into when the tennis season really gets going. According to the calendar, February 5th, 2025 is the last day for registered students to add or drop. That made me think the season probably kicks off around then.
One more thing I saw was a match against Maryland scheduled for January 22nd, 2022, but again, the time was TBA. It looked like they played some pretty big schools, which is cool.
So, after gathering all this info, I decided to actually go check out the tennis courts at Coppin State. I wanted to see the setup for myself. I went down there and the courts looked pretty decent. I watched some people practicing, and they were pretty good! It was cool to see the courts in person after reading about all the schedules and events online.
Overall, it was a fun day exploring the tennis scene at Coppin State. I started by just browsing online, then went to their social media, checked out the schedules, and finally, visited the courts in person. It was a nice little adventure, and I learned a bit more about college tennis.
