Alright, so today I was trying to figure out the OVAC basketball standings. I really just wanted to see where the teams I care about stood in the rankings, you know?
First off, I fired up my computer and opened the browser. Then I punched in “OVAC basketball standings” into the search bar. A whole bunch of results popped up, but it wasn’t super clear which one was the best.
I started clicking through some of the top results. One of them didn’t even load right, said something like “the site won’t allow us.” Super annoying. Another site had a list, but it wasn’t really well-organized. I had to click around to find individual teams.
Then I came across a site that looked a bit more promising. It had a list of all the teams in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference. Finally! It was exactly what I was looking for. I could easily browse through and see the teams I was interested in.
After some more searching I found another site that had some extra information, like game highlights and stuff. It also mentioned that there are over 25 high school basketball games results live every day, which is pretty cool. So I spent a little time checking those out, just to see what was happening around the league.
I also found out that there are many schools in the upper Ohio Valley, which seems to provide a large pool of talent. There are also two separated parts for boys and girls, I only check the boys’ part. It appears that the teams must have won at least 10 games to be ranked.
- First, open the browser and search for “OVAC basketball standings”
- Then, click through several websites to find the one that has the most relevant information
- Browse the list of teams to find the ones that interested
- Check the highlights and scores from around the league
- Find out the information about the school number and the required wins for ranking
Conclusion
Overall, it took a bit of digging, but I eventually found the information I needed. It’s kind of a pain that there isn’t one central place for all this stuff, but I guess that’s just how it is with high school sports. At least I know where my teams stand now!
