Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this whole Dexter Southfield hockey thing. Let me tell you, it’s been quite a ride. I mean, who knew high school hockey could be such a big deal, right?
First off, I started digging around to see what this team was all about. Turns out, they play, like, 30 games a season! That’s insane. And they’re not just playing any old teams. We’re talking serious competition here. They even go to these holiday tournaments, which, honestly, sounds pretty cool.
So, I got to thinking, how do these kids even get to play at this level? From what I gathered, Dexter Southfield seems like a place where they really let these players grow. They’ve got this setup where the younger guys get a chance to, you know, get better, while the older, more experienced players can work on their skills and, apparently, try to get into college for field hockey.
Diving into the Schedule
Now, here’s where it gets really interesting. I stumbled upon their schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season. It looks like they’re kicking things off against some team called North American Hockey Academy. And guess what? They’re gonna wrap up their season in the NEPSGIHA Independent thing, whatever that is. It looks like a really big deal for prep hockey.
Checking Out the Team
Naturally, I had to check out the team’s roster and all that jazz. I mean, who are these players? They’ve got a whole list of names on their website. I spent a good chunk of time looking at these names, trying to figure out who’s who and what they’re all about.
And, of course, I looked into their rankings. They are doing really well as I watched. I guess that’s why they’re considered a “powerhouse.” That’s a serious word, but it seems to fit them.
The Coach Behind It All
And then there’s the coach, this Maggie Taverna person. She seems to be a big part of why they’re so good. I read somewhere that she’s been with the team for a while, so I figure she must know what she’s doing, right? It’s always interesting to see how much a coach can impact a team. I guess every team needs a good coach to push them.
Wrapping Up My Little Research Project
So, yeah, that’s pretty much my whole deep dive into Dexter Southfield hockey. I started off knowing nothing, and now I feel like I could have a decent conversation about it, at least for a few minutes. It’s been a fun little project, and who knows, maybe I’ll actually try to catch one of their games sometime. If I do, I’ll definitely let y’all know how it goes!
Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for now. Hope you found my little hockey adventure at least somewhat interesting. Catch you later!
