Today, I decided to check out this Dover Sherborn Weston hockey game. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a local match, and I’ve heard some good things about these teams. So, I got up early, grabbed my old scarf and hat, and headed out to the rink.
Getting to the rink was easy. I found a decent parking spot not too far from the entrance. Walking in, I could already hear the sounds of skates on ice and sticks hitting pucks. It brought back memories of when I used to play.
I found a good spot in the stands – not too high up, not too close to the glass. Just perfect for getting a good view of the action. The atmosphere was pretty chill, a good mix of families and some die-hard fans.
The game started, and right off the bat, you could see it was going to be a good one. Dover Sherborn, in their home colors, looked sharp. Weston, the visiting team, wasn’t backing down either. The first period was a whirlwind of action. There were a couple of close calls, but no goals. The goalies from both teams were really on their game.
- First period highlights:
- A couple of power plays for both teams.
- Some solid defense work, breaking up plays.
- A few shots that just missed the net.
Second period, and things started heating up. Dover Sherborn got the first goal. The crowd went wild! It was a sweet shot, right past the goalie. Weston answered back a few minutes later. A bit of a scramble in front of the net, and they poked it in. Tie game!
- Second period highlights:
- Dover Sherborn scores!
- Weston ties it up!
- More intense play, some penalties.
Going into the third, everyone was on edge. You could feel the tension. It was back and forth, both teams getting their chances. Then, with about five minutes left, Dover Sherborn got a breakaway. The player skated in, faked out the goalie, and scored! The place erupted. It was an amazing goal.
Weston pulled their goalie in the last minute, trying to tie it up. It was a tense final minute. Dover Sherborn held them off, and that was it. Game over. They won! Handshakes, cheers, and the teams left the ice. It was a heck of a game.
Final Thoughts
It was a great day out. The game was exciting, the crowd was into it, and it was just a fun atmosphere. It’s nice to get out and support the local teams. I’ll definitely be back for more games. This one was a reminder of why I love hockey. Good times!
