Okay, so today I decided to get back on the court and shoot some hoops. I haven’t played seriously in a while, so I figured I’d focus on something simple: just practicing my shots around the key in Ancud.
Getting Started
First thing I did was, you know, find a basketball. Sounds obvious, but mine was kinda buried in the garage. Dug it out, gave it a good pump – it was a little flat. Then, I headed over to the local court. It’s nothing fancy, just a basic concrete court with one hoop, but it does the job.
The Practice Itself
- Warm-up: Started with some easy layups, just to get the feel of the ball and the hoop again. Left side, right side, nothing crazy.
- Free Throws:Then moved on to free throws. Man, my form was rusty! I probably airballed the first five, easy. I had to really concentrate on my stance, my follow-through, everything.
- Short Jumpers: After that, I worked on some short jump shots from around the key. Started close to the basket and gradually moved back.
- Trying Different Angles:I made sure to move around, shooting from different spots – baseline, elbows, top of the key. Just trying to get a good rhythm going.
How It Felt
Honestly, it felt pretty good to be back out there. My shots weren’t always falling, but it was good to just move around and get some exercise. My arms are definitely going to be sore tomorrow, though! I could feel my muscles getting tired pretty quickly, especially in my *’s very interesting.
Wrapping Up
I probably spent about an hour on the court. Didn’t keep score or anything, just focused on getting some shots up and having some fun. By the end, I was definitely hitting more than I was missing, which was a good feeling.
It’s a good begining of today!
