Okay, so I’ve been trying to keep better track of tennis scores, specifically for Emma Navarro. It’s surprisingly tricky! So, I decided to document my whole process, hopefully it helps someone else out, or at least gives you a laugh at my struggles.
The Initial (Messy) Approach
First, I just started jotting down scores in a notebook. You know, the old-fashioned way. Problem: My handwriting is terrible, and after a few matches, it looked like a chicken scratched all over the page. Plus, finding a specific match score? Forget about it. I was flipping pages forever.
Trying to Get Digital
Next, I thought, “Okay, I’m a techy person, I can do better!” I started a spreadsheet. Bigger Problem: I’m not that organized. I’d forget to update it, or I’d put the date in wrong, or I’d accidentally type the score backwards. It was a mess, just a digital version of my messy notebook.
Searching Online
At This time,I try to search online for Emma Navarro, but it hard to find a result for all I want.
Finally, a System That (Sort Of) Works
I haven’t found the perfect solution, to be honest. But here’s what I’m doing now, and it’s mostly working:
- Dedicated Notebook: I went back to the notebook, but this time, I have ONE notebook JUST for Emma Navarro’s matches.
- Clear Labels: I write the date BIG and CLEAR, and I label the opponent and the tournament. No more guessing!
- Simple Scoring: I just write the final score, set by set. I don’t try to get fancy with stats or anything.
- Taking Pictures: After each match I record, I take a picture of the page with my phone. This way, I have a backup, and I can search my photos for “tennis” and usually find what I need.
It’s not perfect, but it’s a HUGE improvement. I can actually find the scores I’m looking for, and it’s kind of satisfying to flip through the notebook and see all the matches. Maybe one day I’ll build a fancy app or something, but for now, this low-tech solution is doing the trick.
If anyone has a better way, please let me know! I’m always open to suggestions. This whole score-tracking thing has been way more of an adventure than I expected!
