Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little adventure with Fairfield Prep Hockey.
So, I’ve been wanting to get a better handle on how the Fairfield Prep hockey team is doing, you know, stats, schedules, the whole nine yards. I figured, “Hey, I can probably scrape something together myself!” I’m no coding whiz, but I’m stubborn.
The Initial Foray
First, I just started poking around. I mean, who doesn’t love a good Google search? I rummaged through a bunch of websites, team pages, and news articles. It was a mess, honestly. Information was all over the place, some outdated, some just plain wrong. It was like trying to assemble a jigsaw puzzle with pieces from different boxes.
Getting My Hands Dirty
Then,I got a little smarter. I started to really focus. I mean, I wasn’t going to build some fancy app or anything, just get the basic facts in order, and see what can I do!
The “Aha!” Moment
I found some consistent sources. Some dedicated high school sports sites, even a couple of local news outlets that seemed to keep things reasonably up-to-date. It was still manual, but I felt like I was making progress. Slowly. Very slowly.
I put all imformation I found together, and here it is!
Putting It All Together (Sort Of)
Right now, my “system” is pretty basic. I’ve got a simple document where I manually update scores, schedules, and any interesting tidbits I come * is not so bad actually!
The Future (Maybe)
Look, I’m not going to pretend this is some revolutionary project. It’s just me, trying to keep track of a hockey team I’m interested in. Maybe someday I’ll get fancy and learn some actual coding to automate this, but for now, it’s my little manual labor of love. And hey, it keeps me busy!
