Okay, so today was the first day of fall camp. Gotta get back in the groove, you know? So, I hit the field early this morning.
Getting Started
First thing, warmed up. Can’t pull a hammy on day one, right? Did some stretches, some light jogging, the usual deal.
- Dynamic stretches – leg swings, arm circles, torso twists.
- Light jog around the field – couple of laps to get the blood flowing.
- Some short sprints increasing accelaration.
Drills, Drills, Drills
Then came the fun part – drills! We worked on a bunch of different stuff.
- Tackling drills: Gotta get that form right. Low man wins, head up, wrap up. All that good stuff.
- Agility drills: Weaving through cones, shuffling, backpedaling. Trying to get those feet quicker.
- Ball security drills: protecting that ball.
Coach was really pushing us. Lots of yelling, lots of encouragement. It was intense, but, hey, that’s football.
Team Work
After the individual stuff, we moved on to team drills. Running plays, working on our timing, getting that chemistry going.
It was a little rough at first, but, It’s only the beginning. We started from a little off and need to get better over time,
Cool Down and Wrap Up
Finally, we cooled down with some more stretches and some light jogging. Then, it was time to hit the showers and grab some food.
Overall, a pretty solid first day. Feeling tired, but good. Can’t wait to see what the rest of fall camp brings. Gonna keep grinding and get ready for the season!
