Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with some old Big Ten football standings, specifically from 2013. It’s always fun to look back at how teams performed, you know? So, I decided to dig in and see what I could find and how things shook out that year.
Finding the Data
First things first, I needed to find the actual standings. It wasn’t that hard just hunted for it. I just wanted the raw data – wins, losses, conference records, the whole nine yards.
Organizing Everything
Once I had the data, I was a bit struggle. To make it easier to look at, I did some basic sorting. It was a bit messy at first.I wanted to arrange things in order, from the best record to the worst, both overall and within the conference.
Reviewing the Results
After I sorted the data of 2013 big ten football standings, I got this:
- 1. Michigan State (11-1 Overall, 8-0 Conference)
- 2. Ohio State (12-0 Overall, 8-0 Conference)
- 3. Wisconsin (9-3 Overall, 6-2 Conference)
- 4. Iowa (8-4 Overall, 5-3 Conference)
- 5. Minnesota (8-4 Overall, 4-4 Conference)
- 6. Nebraska (8-4 Overall, 5-3 Conference)
- 7. Michigan (7-5 Overall, 3-5 Conference)
- 8. Indiana (5-7 Overall, 3-5 Conference)
- 9. Penn State (7-5 Overall, 4-4 Conference)
- 10. Northwestern (5-7 Overall, 1-7 Conference)
- 11. Illinois (4-8 Overall, 1-7 Conference)
- 12. Purdue (1-11 Overall, 0-8 Conference)
It’s cool to see how dominant some teams were, like, you know, Michigan State and Ohio State. I played around with sorting by different columns, checking out who had the best home record, worst away record, all that stuff. Just kind of exploring the data, you know?
Ultimately, it was a fun little exercise. I love looking back at old sports data, and it’s neat to organize it myself. It made me appreciate the how those teams did that season!
