Okay, so today I decided to get involved in this “football pink out” thing. I’ve seen it around, you know, supporting breast cancer awareness. Here’s how my day went, and what I did.
First off, I grabbed my old football jersey. It’s not pink, obviously, so that was the first hurdle. I remembered I had some pink fabric dye leftover from… well, I don’t even remember what. It was in the back of the craft drawer.
Dyeing the Jersey
- I filled a bucket with hot water – like, really hot.
- Then, I dumped the whole packet of pink dye in. It looked like a crazy potion.
- Stirred it up until it was all dissolved. I used a stick, didn’t want pink hands.
- Next, I chucked the jersey into the bucket. Totally submerged it.
- I left it in there for, I don’t know, maybe an hour? I went and watched some TV while it soaked.
After the hour, I pulled the jersey out. Man, it was PINK! Almost too pink. But, hey, that’s the point, right?
Adding Some Flair
I decided to go a bit further. Just a plain pink jersey seemed boring. So I found some pink ribbon and tied it around the sleeves. It looked a bit… much. But, whatever, it’s for a good cause.
Game Time!
Wearing that bright pink jersey,I went and practiced with some friends! Everyone was wearing pink, and some had even more elaborate outfits than mine. It was a fun day, and it felt good to do something, even if it was just wearing a pink jersey, to show support.
So, that’s my “football pink out” experience. It was a bit messy, a bit silly, but totally worth it.
