Okay, so today I wanted to keep better track of tennis scores, specifically Giulio Zeppieri’s. I’m a big fan, and I always find myself scrambling to find his latest results. I figured there had to be a better way than just randomly searching online every time.
My Little Project: Tracking Giulio’s Scores
First, I brainstormed what I actually needed. I wanted something simple, something that wouldn’t take up too much of my time. I decided I just needed the basic info:
- Opponent’s Name
- Tournament Name
- The Final Score
- Whether Giulio Won or Lost
Then, I needed to Find somewhere that consistently provides me with reliable information.
Next, I thought about how I wanted to store this info. I could use a fancy app, but honestly, a simple spreadsheet felt like the easiest solution. So, I opened up Google Sheets. Nothing fancy, just something I could easily update.
I created columns for each of the data points I listed earlier: Opponent, Tournament, Score, and Result (W/L). I also added a column for the date, just to keep things organized chronologically.
Then came the slightly tedious part: I started looking up some of Giulio’s recent matches. I used some, and that worked pretty well. I manually entered the data into my spreadsheet, row by row.
After filling in a few matches, I took a step back to see how it looked. It was clean, easy to read, and exactly what I wanted! I realized I could even add some color-coding later – green for wins, red for losses – to make it even easier to scan.
Finally, I bookmarked the spreadsheet so I could easily find it again. I also set a reminder on my phone to update it after each of Giulio’s matches. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s a lot better than what I was doing before.
It’s a super simple setup, but it’s already making it much easier to follow Giulio’s progress. Plus, it only takes a few minutes to update each time. Pretty happy with how this little project turned out!
