You know, that Gwan Hee fella, the one with the basketball? Yeah, him. People keep askin’ me about his numbers, his stats or somethin’. Dunno why they care so much ’bout these things, but I’ll tell ya what I see, alright?
So, this Gwan Hee, he runs around a lot. Runs and runs, like a chicken with its head cut off sometimes. But he’s got the ball, see? And he throws it. Sometimes it goes in the hoop, sometimes it don’t. That’s basketball, ain’t it? He scores some points, I guess. They say he’s a guard, whatever that means. He guards somethin’, I suppose. Keeps the other fellas from throwin’ the ball, maybe?
They showed me some pictures of him. Tall fella, kinda skinny. He wears a uniform, you know, those shorts and a shirt. Everyone wears the same thing. Hard to tell ’em apart sometimes, ‘cept Gwan Hee, he’s got that… look. Kinda serious, kinda focused. Like he’s thinkin’ real hard about gettin’ that ball in the hoop.
- He played for some teams, I heard. Lots of names I can’t remember. Somethin’ with letters, like KBL and PBA. Guess those are the leagues or somethin’. They got lots of teams, all runnin’ around throwin’ balls.
- He played in Korea, they said. That’s where he’s from, I reckon. Then he went to the Philippines. That’s far, ain’t it? Must be good if they want him to play all the way over there.
Now, about those numbers… they tell me he’s got points and assists and… other stuff. Honestly, I don’t understand it all. Numbers are just numbers to me. What matters is if he helps his team win, right? If he throws the ball good and gets the points, then he’s doin’ somethin’ right.
They say he’s born in 1988. That makes him… what, older than my grandson? He’s still runnin’ around with that ball, though. Must be in good shape. Good for him, I say. Better than sittin’ around doin’ nothin’, like some folks.
People watch him on TV, I hear. They cheer for him, or maybe they yell at him. Don’t know which. I don’t watch much TV myself. Too much noise and flashin’ lights. But this Gwan Hee, he seems to be a big deal. All these stats and teams and leagues… makes my head spin.
I heard he was on some show, too. Somethin’ about findin’ a girl? Don’t know much ’bout that. Seems like everyone’s always tryin’ to find someone. Hope he finds a nice girl who can cook him a good meal. That’s more important than basketball, if you ask me.
So, yeah, Gwan Hee. He plays basketball. He’s got numbers, they say. He runs around, throws the ball, and sometimes it goes in the hoop. He’s from Korea, played in the Philippines, and people seem to like watchin’ him. That’s all I got for ya. Don’t ask me about the stats again, alright? My head hurts enough already.
