Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into lacrosse, and Johns Hopkins is like a big name, right? So I figured I’d dive right in and see what the fuss is all about. I didn’t really know where to start, but I found a game with Notre Dame, another big team, and thought, “Why not?”
First thing I did was try to find a place to watch the live scores. I mean, who watches sports without keeping an eye on the score, am I right? After poking around a bit, I stumbled upon something mentioning live scores and box scores for the Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame game. That sounded perfect.
Next, I wanted to see if I could actually watch the game. It’s one thing to see the scores, but it’s way more fun to see the action, you know? I found something about streaming a game between Virginia and Johns Hopkins. Not the game I was looking for, but hey, it’s still Hopkins lacrosse, so I gave it a watch.
- Watched the game. It was intense!
- Got a feel for the rules and the flow of the game.
After watching, I went back to that game with Notre Dame. Found something called “Inside the Box Score” for Johns Hopkins. Apparently, this goalie, Ierlan, had a ton of saves, 13 to be exact. That’s a lot, right? Also, it said something about Johns Hopkins winning the “ground ball battle” by a lot. I’m guessing that’s important.
Then I dug a little deeper and found an article about a game where some guy named Matt Collison almost messed up but then saved the day for Johns Hopkins. He hit the goal post at first, but then scored and everyone went wild. Sounds like a nail-biter!
Finally, I found something about a rivalry game between Maryland and Johns Hopkins. It was apparently the 120th time they played each other! The score was 7-5, with Hopkins winning. That must be a big deal, being such an old rivalry.
So, after all that, what did I learn?
- Hopkins is a big name in lacrosse.
- Goalies are super important, based on that Ierlan guy.
- Winning ground balls seems to be a big deal.
- Close games are super exciting, like the one with Matt Collison.
- The rivalry with Maryland is a huge thing.
Conclusion
Man, that was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. I definitely want to watch more lacrosse now. I might even try to catch a live game. Who knows, maybe I’ll become a huge fan. This whole Johns Hopkins lacrosse thing is pretty cool!
