So, I found myself needing to look up the Braintree High hockey schedule the other day. It wasn’t for me, really, my high school hockey days are long gone, thank goodness. My knees wouldn’t take it now. It was actually for my nephew, he’s getting into hockey and wanted to see a local high school game, feel the atmosphere, you know?
First thing I did, naturally, was hop onto the computer. I figured, easy enough, right? Just search for it. I started by going to what I thought was the main Braintree High athletics page. Navigated around a bit. Found the winter sports section, clicked on hockey. Sometimes these things are buried, you gotta dig.
Found the team page, but the schedule listed? Looked like last year’s. That happens sometimes, sites don’t always get updated the second the season starts. Bit annoying, but okay, plan B.
Where I Looked Next
I decided to try some of those general Massachusetts high school sports websites. You know the ones, they try to cover everything. So I searched specifically for Braintree High hockey there.
Here’s kinda the steps I took:
- Checked the main school athletics portal first.
- Looked at a couple of statewide high school sports aggregate sites.
- Did a broader web search, just “Braintree High School Hockey Schedule 20XX-20XX” (put the current season years in).
- Briefly scanned some local news sites, sometimes they cover schedules at the start of the season.
That broad search finally turned up something useful. It wasn’t directly on the school site, but seemed like a reliable league schedule source. It had the dates, the opponents, times, and whether it was home or away. Looked pretty complete.
Compared it across a couple of hits just to make sure the info matched up, seemed consistent. So, I jotted down the next few home games for my nephew. It took a bit more clicking around than I initially expected. Back in my day, you just knew the schedule, or it was posted up somewhere physical, like on a town board or in the local paper. Things change, I guess. Sometimes feels like finding simple info got more complicated, not less, with all this tech.
Anyway, got the dates. Now just need to make sure we bundle up, those rinks get cold. Hopefully, seeing a game gets the kid even more excited about playing.
