Okay, so, I got this thing I wanted to do, just a simple little project, nothing too fancy, all about the St. John’s women’s tennis team. It’s not like I’m some big-shot sports analyst or anything. I just thought it would be fun to dig into their stuff, see what’s what.
First off, I started by just gathering whatever I could find online about them. I mean, there’s a ton of stuff out there if you look. I went to the St. John’s University website, their sports section, and found their official schedule for the 2024-25 season. They had everything there, all the matches they’re playing, who they’re up against, and where. It was pretty neat to see it all laid out like that.
Then, I started looking into how they did recently. I found out that the St. John’s women’s tennis team won a bunch of matches last weekend at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regionals. That got me curious, so I dug a little deeper into that.
- Went through the team’s recent performance stats.
- Checked out news about their wins at the ITA Northeast Regionals.
- Noticed they were getting ready to play against Providence in the BIG EAST Tournament.
After that, I kind of stumbled onto their official account where they call themselves the 2017-18 Big East Champions. That was a bit of a throwback, but it was cool to see they had some history.
Diving Deeper
I also found out they released their schedule for this season, 21 matches in total. What really caught my eye was that they were bringing back their entire roster from last season. I mean, they did pretty well, 18 wins and 6 losses. So, I started to think about what each player might bring to the table this year, based on how they did last year.
Now, I’m not claiming to be an expert on college tennis or anything. But I did a little comparing with other sports, just for fun. You know, like how everyone says Serena Williams is the best female tennis player ever. It made me wonder who’s the Serena of college tennis, or at least for St. John’s. But that’s just something i think about.
Organizing all this stuff was kind of fun. I made notes on the players, their matches, and any interesting tidbits I found. Nothing too serious, just enough to get a better picture of the team.
So, that’s pretty much it. I got a decent overview of the St. John’s women’s tennis team, their schedule, their past achievements, and a bit about their players. It was just a fun little project to learn more about them. And who knows, maybe I’ll keep following them this season, just to see how they do. I think it’s pretty interesting, even if it’s not a big deal.
