Alright, so I decided to dive into the world of Stonehill Men’s Ice Hockey. I’ve always been a fan of college sports, and I figured, why not get to know a team a little better? Here’s how I went about it.
First Steps: Getting the Basic Info
First thing I did was just hit up the web. I wanted to get a feel for the team, you know? Like, who are the players, who’s the coach, what’s their schedule like. Stuff like that. Basic, easy stuff to find to build my foundataion of knowlege.
Digging a Little Deeper: Stats and Stuff
Once I had a handle on the basics, I wanted more. So, I started looking at their stats. Wins, losses, goals for, goals against, save percentages for the goalies… all that good stuff. It’s like, you can watch a game, but the numbers tell a story too, right?
Watching Some Games (Finally!)
Of course, all the stats in the world don’t mean much if you haven’t seen them play! So, I tracked down, and watched some of their games. It’s way more fun to watch a game when you actually know who the players are and what their records are like.
What I’ve Learned So Far
So, after all this digging and watching, what have I got? A much better appreciation for Stonehill Men’s Ice Hockey, that’s what! I know who to watch out for, I have a sense of their strengths and weaknesses, and I’m actually invested in how they do this season. It’s pretty cool to go from knowing nothing to feeling like a bit of a fan.
It might seem like a small thing, following a college hockey team. But it’s been a fun little project. It’s always good to learn something new, and this has definitely been a fun way to do it.
