Well, now, if you’re lookin’ for some good ol’ college football action, let me tell ya about this here game between Howard and Norfolk State. Them two teams went at it on October 26, 2024, and let me tell ya, it wasn’t no walk in the park for either side. That game had all the drama, excitement, and a whole lotta back-and-forth. Sure, it started slow, but don’t you go blinkin’, ’cause by the end of it, we all had our eyes wide open! The Norfolk State Spartans sure had their work cut out for ‘em, but they pulled through in the end.
Now, it all started when Norfolk State won the coin toss and decided they’d defer. That means Howard got the ball first. But, wouldn’t ya know it, Howard made a strong push early on. I reckon they had a little fire in their belly, ’cause they kicked things off with a big ol’ 97-yard touchdown run by Jaylen White. That boy was fast, runnin’ like the wind! That put Howard up 7-0, and them Bison folks was hollerin’ and cheerin’ for all they were worth.
But hold up, don’t get too comfy, ‘cause Norfolk State wasn’t just gonna let Howard have it easy. They hung in there and, before you know it, they got themselves back in the game. By halftime, Howard was still ahead with a 10-7 lead, but Norfolk State wasn’t givin’ up. It wasn’t over by a long shot.
Now, the real show started after halftime. In the second half, Norfolk State started gettin’ their act together. The third quarter came and went, but neither team was able to score any big points. It wasn’t till the fourth quarter that things got real spicy. Kevon King, he’s the one who saved the day for Norfolk State with a 4-yard touchdown run. That boy sure knew how to find the end zone when it counted the most!
Now, with that touchdown, Norfolk State took the lead, but it wasn’t a big ol’ lead. It was a narrow 21-20. I’m tellin’ ya, my heart was in my throat for the last few minutes. Howard tried to make a run for it, but them Spartans weren’t about to let go of that win. By the time the game ended, Norfolk State held on to that one-point lead, and they snatched up their first Homecoming victory in quite a while!
It was a tough game for both teams, but Norfolk State showed they had the grit and determination to come from behind and get the job done. You could see how much it meant to ’em, and that win surely gave them somethin’ to celebrate!
If you’re askin’ me, this here was one of those games that keeps you on the edge of your seat. You never know who’s gonna win till that final whistle blows, and that’s exactly what happened. Norfolk State got the win, 21-20, but Howard surely gave ’em a run for their money!
So, there you have it. It wasn’t a pretty game all the time, but in the end, Norfolk State came out on top. Both teams played hard, and you gotta give credit where credit’s due. That’s the kind of football that keeps you watchin’ till the very last second!
