Alright, so today, I decided to get back on the court and shoot some hoops. I used to play a bit back in the day, nothing serious, but I always enjoyed it. Thought I’d try to relive some of that, you know?
Getting Started
First thing, I had to find a court. Luckily, there’s a park nearby with some public courts. Drove over there, and thankfully, it wasn’t too crowded. Just a couple of guys playing one-on-one.
The Warm-Up
I started with some basic stretches, nothing fancy, just trying to loosen up the old muscles. Did some arm circles, leg swings, that kind of stuff. I definitely felt a bit stiff at first.
Then begin to practice shooting, the first shoot is not so good, missed the basket

Shooting Around
I grabbed my ball – it’s a bit worn out, but it still bounces – and started with some easy layups. Just getting a feel for the ball and the hoop again. Felt awkward at first, like I was all arms and legs.
Then I moved back to the free-throw line. That was… humbling. My shots were all over the place. Some short, some long, some way off to the side. It’s clear I’ve lost my touch a bit. But hey, it’s all about having fun, right?
After a bunch of free throws, I tried some three-pointers. Let’s just say my three-point percentage was… not great. I probably made, like, one out of ten? But man, that one that went in felt good.
Playing a Bit
I didn’t actually play a game against anyone. Just practiced my shots, dribbled around a bit, pretended I was guarding someone. Imagined myself making some clutch shots. It’s silly, but it was fun.
Cooling Down
After about an hour, I was starting to feel it. My arms were tired, and I was definitely sweating. Decided to call it a day. Did some more stretches, just to make sure I wouldn’t be too sore tomorrow.
Final Thoughts
It wasn’t the most intense basketball session ever, but it was good to get out there and move around. Brought back some good memories, and I even worked up a bit of a sweat. Maybe I’ll make this a regular thing. Definitely need to work on that free throw, though!
