Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this Colgate men’s tennis thing, and I gotta tell you, it’s been a bit of a ride. First off, I wanted to see what these guys were up to, you know, get the lay of the land. So I started digging around, trying to find some scores, some results, anything to give me an idea of how they’re doing.
I found this “Box Score FLUSHING MEADOWS” thing, but honestly, it didn’t tell me much. It was just a place, I guess? Then I stumbled upon some info about the team playing at their first-ever home fall invite. Apparently, they had a winning record, which is pretty cool. I mean, who doesn’t love a winning team, right?
Next, I saw that they competed at something called the “ITA Regional”. Sounds fancy, but I’m not really sure what it is. But there was this one guy, a sophomore named Jerome Falcon, who apparently killed it. They said he was undefeated in both singles and doubles, and he is from Israel. That’s some serious skills! I was starting to get interested in the team.
Then I saw something about a match on Sunday, March 14th. The Raiders, that’s the team’s name, they played against UC San Diego. That’s about all I could find on that one, though, no mention of who won or lost.
After that, I found out they were at some Binghamton Invitational. Again, no real details, just that they were there. It felt like I was getting bits and pieces of the puzzle, but not the whole picture. Then I started to find out some background information about them, they are a team of the Patriot League except for the men’s and women’s ice hockey teams, they are in the ECAC Hockey. And they are in the NCAA Division I for all varsity sports, also more than 50 club and intramural sports programs.
So, yeah, that’s where I’m at with this Colgate men’s tennis thing. It’s been a bit of a treasure hunt, trying to piece together their story from these random bits of info. It sounds like these guys have got a pretty busy schedule, traveling around to different invites and competitions. I guess the one thing I can say for sure is, that Jerome Falcon guy seems like one to watch! It’s not much, but that’s my experience with it so far. I might keep digging, see what else I can uncover about these Raiders.
