Okay, so I’ve been meaning to dig into this Jim Otis football thing for a while now. I kept seeing his name pop up in discussions about old-school running backs, and I figured it was time to see what the hype was all about.
Getting Started
First, I just did a basic search online. You know, just to get the lay of the land. Date of birth, teams he played for, basic stats – that kind of stuff. It was helpful to get a general overview of his career.
Diving into the Stats
Next, I wanted to see some numbers. I’m a big stats guy, I found a few sites that had his year-by-year rushing yards, touchdowns, all that good stuff. I spent a good chunk of time just combing through those, trying to get a feel for his production over the years.
It helped to see the ups and downs, the peak years, and how he performed over the long haul.
Finding Some old footages
Of course, stats only tell part of the story. I wanted to actually see this guy play. So, I went on a hunt for some old game footage. Thankfully, there are tons of old games and highlights.
- I spent hours just watching old games and whatever highlights.
- I was looking at his running * did the blocking look? What kind of moves did he have?
Putting it all Together
After all that,I feel like I have got some basic understanding about Jim Otis. Looking at the stats I noticed how he piled up the yards, and watching the film,I realized how he was built.
It was a cool deep-dive, and it definitely made me appreciate those old-school players even more.
