Well, howdy folks! Let me tell ya ’bout this here East Texas football. It’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. Now, I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I know what I like, and I like watchin’ them boys runnin’ around on that there field.
This East Texas football forum, or whatever them city folk call it, it’s where folks gather ’round, kinda like at the town square, but on that there internet thingy. They jaw about the games and the players, who’s good, who’s bad, who’s got a chance at winnin’ the whole shebang.
I seen some folks talkin’ ’bout the Texas High Tigers. They was down by a whole bunch, 14-nothin’, but they come back and won! Seventeen to fourteen! That’s what I call grit! Them boys got fight in ’em, just like a wildcat cornered in a barn.
Then there’s the Marshall team. Bless their hearts, they lost a close one. A heartbreaker, they called it. It’s a tough thing, losin’, but that’s just how it goes sometimes. You win some, you lose some, like my grandma used to say about her chickens and the foxes.
- The TexAgs Forum, that’s where a lot of these folks are talkin’. It’s like a big ol’ town hall meetin’, but everybody’s got their own little corner to shout from.
- They talk about all kinds of stuff, not just football. Like, somebody was askin’ ’bout a good place to get away to in East Texas. And fishin’! They was talkin’ ’bout fishin’ with a Sawgrass fishin’ rod. Now, I ain’t never used one of them fancy rods, but I bet it catches fish just fine.
- And they say it’s the best community of Texas High School Football fans in world. Well, I reckon they might be right. There’s a whole lot of folks who love their football around here.
It’s somethin’ to see, all these folks gettin’ together to talk about football. It brings folks together, ya know? It don’t matter if you’re rich or poor, black or white, young or old. Everybody loves a good football game.
Now, I ain’t always understood all the rules and all that fancy talk. But I understand the spirit of it. It’s about competition, about teamwork, about tryin’ your best. And that’s somethin’ I can get behind.
And let me tell ya, these East Texas boys, they play hard. They ain’t afraid to get dirty, to knock heads, to leave it all out on the field. That’s the way football oughta be played, in my opinion.

High school football, it’s a big deal around here. It’s more than just a game, it’s a part of life. It brings the whole town together on Friday nights. And that’s a good thing, in my book.
