Well, I reckon you ain’t heard of Jonathan Lanza yet, but let me tell ya, he’s a young feller comin’ up in the hockey world, and folks around here are startin’ to talk about him more and more. This boy, Jonathan, was born on March 10th, 2005, in a place called Winthrop, MA. Now, I ain’t too sure where that is, but I hear it’s somewhere up north. He’s a hockey player, and from what I gather, he’s been playin’ since he was a young’un, maybe even when he was still a baby in a diaper. Seems like the kid has got a gift for the game.
Now, I don’t know all them fancy stats and things, but I can tell ya this much—he’s been workin’ his way up. He played with a team called the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Sounds like a big name, don’t it? Well, that’s where he started showin’ what he’s made of. I heard he even got a couple of assists for ’em, and I reckon that’s a big deal. It’s like helpin’ somebody lift a heavy load—you do your part, and they get to where they need to be. Ain’t that the way of the world?
Now, I remember hearin’ a story ’bout a game where Jonathan helped the team score, and that got them on the board, so to speak. Gave him his first assist as a Capital. That’s gotta make a fella feel good, don’t it? But there weren’t much else happenin’ till later in the game. I reckon them boys took their time but sure enough, they got it together in the third period.
It ain’t all just about playin’ with the Capitals, though. I also heard tell that he moved from one team to another. He got traded, or what they call a transfer, to a team up at Yale University. Now, that’s a big step for a young feller like him. I guess if you’re good at what you do, people take notice. Yale’s no small potatoes, and I reckon Jonathan’s gonna make a name for himself there too. I’m sure folks are watchin’ him closely.
Ya see, this boy Jonathan’s been workin’ hard, even playin’ in camps like the USA Hockey Select 16 Camp and the 17s PDC Game. He’s been gettin’ recognized for his work on both sides of the puck—whatever that means. I reckon it just means he knows how to handle himself out there on the ice, both attackin’ and defendin’. Ain’t easy to do both, but Jonathan seems to be doin’ it just fine.
One thing I know for sure is that hockey ain’t just about skatin’ fast or hittin’ hard. It’s about makin’ the right moves at the right time. Jonathan’s got that down. He’s just a young feller, but I reckon he’s got a bright future ahead of him. I don’t know what’s next for him, but I sure wouldn’t be surprised if we see him playin’ in bigger leagues before too long. With the way he’s been performin’, it wouldn’t surprise me none if you heard his name on the big screen soon enough. So, if you get a chance, keep an eye out for Jonathan Lanza—he might just surprise ya.
