Now, let me tell you ‘bout this fella named Josh Thrower. He’s a hockey player, you see, and a big one too. Stands tall at 6’2″ and weighs about 225 pounds, strong as an ox, I reckon. Born on March 4, 1996, over in Squamish, BC. Played a whole lot of junior hockey in the WHL, that’s the Western Hockey League if you didn’t know, from 2011 all the way till 2016. That’s where he really learned how to skate fast and hit hard, like them hockey folks like to do.
Now, Josh, he ain’t some fancy NHL player yet, but he’s still working hard in the game. Most recent I heard, the Norfolk Admirals signed him up for the 2023-24 season. Norfolk Admirals, yeah, they’re one of them smaller hockey teams but still got a lotta fight in ‘em. They got Josh ‘cause they needed someone tough on defense, and that’s just what he is. A real solid defenseman, I tell ya.
Josh Thrower, he shoots right, which I guess is good for a defenseman. I don’t know much ‘bout the fancy stats, but they say it matters, so it must mean somethin’. And boy, can he fight! Hockey’s a rough sport, ya know, and Josh ain’t afraid to drop the gloves and protect his teammates when it comes to that. Got into plenty of scrums over the years, just like a good ol’ hockey player should.
Career Beginnings
Josh started young in the WHL, playin’ for teams like the Calgary Hitmen and Vancouver Giants. That’s where he got his start, learnin’ all them hockey tricks and playin’ against tough young guys. It’s a good place to build a career if ya wanna make it in pro hockey, that’s what they say. After finishin’ his junior days, he didn’t go straight to the NHL, no sir, but that don’t mean he ain’t good. Not everyone goes straight to the top, ya know?
He went around to different teams, tryin’ to find his way. Played in the ECHL, that’s like a lower league than the NHL, but still pretty darn good if you ask me. Not everybody makes it to the big leagues right away. Sometimes, it takes a while, but as long as you keep workin’ hard, you still got a chance, right?
What’s Next for Josh
Now, this season with the Norfolk Admirals, I reckon it’s a big one for Josh. He’s been workin’ hard, tryin’ to improve, and maybe someday, he’ll get a shot at playin’ in the NHL. But for now, he’s focusin’ on doin’ his best for Norfolk. That’s all you can do, just keep playin’ and see where it takes ya. Norfolk’s a good team, and they need strong players like Josh to help ‘em win some games.

So if you’re a fan of hard-hittin’ hockey, keep an eye on Josh Thrower this season. He might not be in the NHL just yet, but with how hard he’s workin’ and playin’, it wouldn’t surprise me if he got there one day. Hockey’s all about grit and determination, and Josh’s got plenty of that. Don’t matter where you start, it’s about where you end up, and I reckon Josh still has a lotta hockey left in him.
