Alright, alright, lemme tell ya about this boy, Kiernan Gately. Plays that hockey game, you know, on the ice? Yeah, him.
He’s from some place called Penfield, New York. Fancy name, huh? Don’t know much about it myself. But this boy, born in 2004, February 25th, they say. Just a young’un, really. Still wet behind the ears, but hey, he’s playin’ the hockey!
- He’s big, real big. Six foot two, they say. Taller than my Billy, and Billy was a beanpole!
- Plays defense, keeps them other fellas from scorin’, ya know? Important job, that is. Can’t win if they keep puttin’ that puck in your net.
- Shoots right-handed. Don’t know if that matters much, but they keep sayin’ it. Must be somethin’.
He started playin’ in 2021, so he’s been at it for a couple years now. Played for a bunch of teams, names I can’t hardly remember. Somethin’ about IceRays and Norsemen? Sound like somethin’ out of a storybook, if you ask me. Anyways, he got a goal and an assist, they say. Not bad for a youngster, I reckon.
They say he’s a confident player, this Kiernan Gately. Reads the play well, whatever that means. Adjusts quick, too. Sounds like he knows what he’s doin’ out there on that ice. He was a strong player, they say. Strong like my old mule, Jedediah. Could pull a plow all day, that mule could.
This boy, he played for somethin’ called the Rochester Selects too. U15, they call it. Don’t know what that U15 stands for, but he was playin’ defense there too. Keeps them other fellas from scorin’, remember?
Now they say he’s goin’ to Stony Brook. Big addition, they call him. Sounds important. Guess they think he’s gonna help ’em win some games. And that Colin Wenrich fella too, another defense guy. Gotta keep them pucks outta the net, I keep tellin’ ya!
People talk about his skills and potential, this Kiernan Gately. Scout reports, they call ’em. Like they’re lookin’ for somethin’ special, I guess. And maybe he is special, this boy from Penfield. Playing that hockey game on the ice, keepin’ them pucks outta the net.
He’s just a young fella, startin’ out. Who knows where he’ll end up? Maybe he’ll be a big star, like them fellas on the telly. Maybe he’ll just keep playin’, doin’ his job. Either way, he’s playin’ the hockey, this Kiernan Gately. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon.
