It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but ya know, it happens to the best of ‘em. Shanley’s been bouncin’ back each time, though, tougher than a North Dakota winter.
Oh, and don’t even get me started on that title game against Minot’s Magi. Now, that was somethin’ else. The Magi, they were undefeated all season, and Shanley went head-to-head with ‘em. They sure gave it their all, but the Magi topped ‘em in the end, with a close one at 38-35. Real hard-fought battle, I tell ya.

Well, the season ain’t over yet. Folks ‘round here are still real hopeful for Shanley’s chances. See, Shanley’s got some strong players and a head coach with quite the record. He’s been at this for years, won state titles, and knows how to lead these boys. He’s been coachin’ for about 20 years in North Dakota, and he’s taken Shanley to the Dakota Bowl a whole bunch of times. So folks are just as proud as they can be.
