Okay, so I wanted to hit the courts and get some practice in, and I heard about this place called Bitsy Grant Tennis Center in Atlanta. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” So, I went ahead and did just that.
First off, I checked out what they had. They’ve got both hard and soft courts, which is pretty cool. I’m not super picky, but it’s nice to have options. And they’ve got stuff for everyone, whether you’re just starting out or you’re practically a pro. They even have pickleball, which I’ve been meaning to try.
I saw that they have different skill levels, from beginner to advanced. The beginner levels are from 2.25 to 3.0, intermediate is from 3.1 to 4.0, and advanced starts at 4.1 up to 5.0. I consider myself somewhere in between, so I figured I’d fit right in.
They’ve got this person, Anne Clarke, who’s the Pickleball Director, and she can check out your skills. That’s good to know if you want to know where you stand.
I went to the center, and the place is pretty nice. It’s a public racquet center, one of five in Atlanta, and it’s run by this Agape Tennis Academy. They’ve got programs for all ages, from little kids to, well, not-so-little kids.
I played a few rounds, and I’ve got to say, it was a good time. The courts are in good shape, and everyone there was pretty chill. I even got to chat with a few people, and they were all super friendly.
My Experience
- Arrived at the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center.
- Checked in at the front desk.
- Warmed up on one of the available courts.
- Played several games of tennis.
- Observed others playing pickleball.
- Chatted with some fellow tennis players.
- Took a break to hydrate and rest.
- Played a few more rounds.
- Cleaned up my area.
- Left the center feeling good about the day’s practice.
Overall, I’d say it was a solid experience. If you’re in Atlanta and looking for a place to play tennis or pickleball, you might want to check out Bitsy Grant Tennis Center. It’s a good spot to get some practice in, meet some people, and just have a good time. I’ll probably be back again soon, maybe even try out that pickleball.
