Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with getting football scores, specifically from Lima. I’ve heard there are some cool APIs out there, but I’m more of a hands-on, see-what-I-can-do kind of guy.
My Little Experiment
First, I just did a quick search. Typed in “lima football scores” and, you know, saw what popped up. Lots of websites, obviously, each with its own way of showing things. Too much clicking for my taste.
So, I thought, “Okay, let’s get a bit more specific.” I started looking for any sites that had, like, live updates. It’s a pain to keep refreshing a page, right?
My next move? I picked one of those sites that looked promising, but it was still too much. Scores were buried under a ton of other stuff I didn’t care about.
Getting My Hands Dirty
I figured, “Why not try to grab just the scores myself?” I’m no coding wizard, but I know a little bit about inspecting web pages. Y’know, that “Inspect Element” thing in the browser.
I started poking around in the code of the page. I have been looking for where the scores are, where live. Found some stuff, but it was all mixed up with other, and lots of gibberish.
Honestly, this is where I spent most of my time. Clicking around, trying to see if I could make sense of anything. No luck. It’s like trying to find a specific grain of rice in a giant bag.
Finally I failed,It’s too hard for me.
