Alright, so you wanna know about this “long hill tennis,” huh? I’ll tell ya what I know, though I ain’t no fancy tennis player or nothin’. It’s just tennis, like what them rich folks play, but it’s in a place called Long Hill, I reckon.
Now, from what I hear, this Long Hill place got all sorts of tennis stuff goin’ on. They got places to play, like clubs and centers, ya know? Round Top Swim & Tennis Club, Gina’s Tennis World, Warren Health & Racquet Club, Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness, and that Racquet Center At Copper Springs. Sounds like a lot of tennis to me!
They got leagues and tournaments too. That’s where folks get together and play against each other, tryin’ to win and whatnot. I guess it’s like them baseball games the young’uns watch, only with them little yellow balls and rackets.
- They even got lessons! So, if you’re like me and don’t know a lick about tennis, you can go learn from someone who does. That fella Tim sounds like he knows his stuff, played all through school and college, even was a captain or somethin’.
- Seems like they take their tennis real serious in Long Hill. They even got lights on the courts so folks can play at night. Imagine that! Playing tennis when it’s dark outside. They must really love it.
The Long Hill Community Center, that’s another place with tennis. But they got other stuff too, like aerobics and dog trainin’. Seems like a busy place. They got all sorts of programs there, so there’s somethin’ for everyone, I guess.
I heard tell that tennis used to be played in these walled-in places, way back when. Kings and such, they played it. Now they play it outside mostly, on them courts with the lines and nets. And they got different names for things, like “love” means nothin’, which don’t make a lick of sense to me, but that’s how they talk in tennis, I guess.
And this one fella, he moved here from across the ocean when he was just a young’un to learn tennis. Went to some fancy academy down in Florida. Guess they got places like that, where all they do is play tennis all day long. Must be nice, if you like that sort of thing.
So, yeah, that’s what I know about long hill tennis. It’s just tennis, but in Long Hill. They got lots of places to play, lots of folks playin’, and lots of ways to learn. If you’re into tennis, sounds like a good place to be. If not, well, there’s probably other stuff to do in Long Hill too. I ain’t been there myself, mind you, but that’s what I hear.
And if you wanna play late, they got lights on the courts until 10 at night. They play on the turf field and basketball court too, but only when the lights are on, same as the tennis. And there’s this path, like a figure 8, all paved and nice. Good for walkin’, I reckon, if you ain’t into tennis. They got professionals too, teachin’ the young’uns and the old folks how to swing that racket and hit that little ball. They know all sorts of fancy tricks, I bet.
So that’s it. Long Hill and tennis. Sounds like a busy place, full of folks hittin’ balls and runnin’ around. Not for me, I prefer sittin’ on the porch with a glass of sweet tea, but to each their own, I always say.
