Okay, so I needed to get my skates sharpened and I also wanted to check out some new gloves. I’ve been meaning to go to Pure Hockey in Newington, NH, for a while now, so today was the day.
First, I grabbed my skates and tossed them in the car. It’s always a bit of a pain lugging all my gear around, but hey, that’s hockey life, right?
The Drive
The drive up to Newington wasn’t too bad. It’s a pretty straightforward shot from where I live. I threw on some tunes, cranked up the volume a little, and cruised along.
Inside the Store
Walked in and, man, this place is HUGE. They’ve got everything. Sticks, skates, pads, helmets…you name it. I headed straight for the skate sharpening area.
- Dropped off my skates.
- The guy there was super helpful. We chatted about the different hollows, and I decided to stick with what I usually get.
Checking Out Gear
With my skates being taken care of, I wandered over to the glove section. My old ones are pretty beat up, so I figured it was time to look at some new options. Tried on a few pairs, flexed my fingers, pretended to take a slapshot…the usual. Didn’t find anything that I absolutely loved, but I got a good idea of what’s out there.
Overall Experience
Even though I didn’t buy new gloves at that time, the trip was a win. My skates are sharp, and I will go back to that shop next time.
If you’re in the Newington, NH area and you’re a hockey player, you gotta check this place out. It’s worth the trip!
