Okay, so today I decided to get involved with the Mass Conn United hockey team. I’ve been itching to get back on the ice, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. First thing I did was check out their website, trying to get a feel for the league and what it’s all about.
After poking around a bit, I found the registration page. It was pretty straightforward – name, contact info, experience level, all that usual stuff. Filled that out, no problem. Then came the slightly tricky part: figuring out which division was the right fit for me. I haven’t played competitively in a while, so I didn’t want to jump into something too intense. Ended up going with the intermediate level, hoping it’ll be a good balance of fun and challenge.
Next, I had to sort out my gear. Dug out my old hockey bag from the basement – man, that thing was dusty! Checked my skates, helmet, pads… everything seemed to be in decent shape, thankfully. I did make a mental note to get my skates sharpened before the first game, though. Don’t want to be slipping and sliding all over the place.
- Checked existing gear.
- Sharpened skates.
- Confirmed practice schedule.
I also spent some time looking at the team schedule. It’s always a bit of a juggling act fitting games and practices around work and other commitments. But hey, that’s part of the deal, right? It looks like most of the games are on weekends, which works out pretty well for me.
Getting Ready for Game Day!
The biggest thing I’ve learned is just making sure that all my gear is good to go. There’s nothing more annoying than getting all the way to the rink only to find a broken buckle or missing a glove. That happened once and it was a complete pain. Never again.!
Can not wait to play for the first time
