Alright, so I wanted to figure out the deal with the Massachusetts high school hockey rankings for 2024. You know, see which teams were looking hot and which ones, well, weren’t.
First, I started poking around online. Just your basic searches, nothing fancy. I typed in stuff like “Massachusetts high school hockey rankings 2024” into a few search engines. I figured the usual suspects would have something.
I found a few websites that seemed promising. Most of them were sports news sites or dedicated high school sports pages. They had lists, sure, but they weren’t all saying the same thing. Some had different teams at the top, and others didn’t even have the same teams listed.
So, I dug a little deeper. I started looking at the individual team websites, trying to get a sense of their records and who they’d been playing. It was like piecing together a puzzle, to be honest. Some team websites were up to date, and others looked like they hadn’t been touched since last season. I mean really, I’m just doing this for fun, what’s up with these people?
I also checked out some local newspapers online. I figured they might have more detailed coverage of the high school hockey scene. It was hit or miss, some had articles and game summaries, others just had scores. I got used to it after a while.
After looking at the information, I started making my own list. I was crossing the top 5 names out based on what I had seen and heard. There were always a couple of teams that were clearly powerhouses. You know, the ones with crazy good records and a bunch of wins against other top teams.
My Personal Ranking
- St. John’s Prep – These guys seem like the real deal. They were the Super 8 champions last year, and they seem to be doing great this year too.
- Catholic Memorial – Always a tough team. They’ve been in the Super 8 finals a bunch of times, and I think they’ll be strong contenders again.
- BC High – They’ve got a solid program and are always in the mix. I saw they had some big wins this season.
- Xaverian Brothers – Another really good team. They’re always competitive and have a history of success.
- Pope Francis – They might not be as well-known as some of the other teams, but they’ve been playing really well and deserve a spot in the top 5.
Honestly, it wasn’t easy to put together a definitive ranking. There’s a lot of good hockey being played in Massachusetts, and things can change quickly. But that’s what makes it fun to follow, right? Every game could be a surprise and every team is giving it their all.
