Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get back into tennis, you know? It’s been years since I seriously played, but I figured it was time. I’m in San Antonio, Texas, and I heard about this McFarland Tennis Center. So, I decided to check it out and get back on the court.
Finding the Place
First things first, I had to, like, actually find the place. I just used my phone, nothing fancy, and typed in “McFarland Tennis Center San Antonio.” Boom, there it was. I checked the website to find their address.
Checking It Out
I drove over there – wasn’t too far, actually. The place looked pretty decent from the outside. Lots of courts, which was a good sign. I walked in, and it was…busy. Lots of people playing, lessons going on, the whole nine yards.
I went up to the front desk, and the person there was helpful. I asked them about court availability, how much it cost to play, that sort of thing. Just basic questions to see what the deal was. They gave me the lowdown – prices were reasonable, I thought.
Getting on the Court
So, I decided to go for it. Paid for some court time. Honestly, I felt a little rusty grabbing my racket. It was a little embarrassing, not gonna lie. I found an empty court and started hitting some balls against the wall, just to get the feel of it again. Slowly, you know? Didn’t want to pull a muscle on day one!
Playing a Bit
After a while, I felt…okay. Not great, but okay. I saw a few other people looking for someone to hit with, so I ended up playing a few games. It was fun! Definitely need to work on my serve, though. And my backhand. And…well, pretty much everything. But it felt good to be out there, sweating a little, hitting the ball.
Overall Impression
The McFarland Tennis Center? Yeah, I’d recommend it. It’s a solid place to play. Not super fancy, but it has everything you need. Courts are in good shape, the staff is friendly, and the prices are fair. I’m definitely planning on going back. Maybe even sign up for some lessons to brush up on my skills. We’ll see!
I think it great to exercise! Get out the door and play some tennis, have fun!
