Alright, so you wanna know about them Tusculum University football fellas, huh? The Pioneers, they call ‘em. Well, lemme tell ya what I know, best as I can remember. This ain’t no fancy city talk, mind you, just plain ol’ talkin’.
First off, they got a whole bunch of boys playin’ all sorts of sports over there at Tusculum. Baseball, basketball for the men and the women, and of course, the football. That’s what we’re here to talk about, ain’t it? The football.
Now, these Pioneers, they play in somethin’ called NCAA Division II. Don’t rightly know what all that means, but it sounds important. And they’re part of the South Atlantic Conference. Sounds like a bunch of schools playin’ together, like a big ol’ neighborhood game, only bigger.
They got a whole mess of coaches, too. I heard tell of a Malik Goodman, he helps out with the defense and passin’ the ball, whatever that means. And a Matt James, he works with the tight ends. Sounds like a tight squeeze to me! Heh. But these fellas, they know their football, I reckon.
If you wanna know who’s playin’ on the team, you gotta look at that roster thing. It’s got all the players’ names, how big they are, where they play, and all that. You know, like if they’re a big fella up front, or a fast fella runnin’ around. ESPN, they got that roster stuff. You can find it online, I hear. They got all the details, like how tall they are, how much they weigh, when they were born, and how long they’ve been playin’. It’s all there, if you can make sense of it.
- Big fellas up front, they call ’em linemen, I think.
- The fast fellas, they’re the runners and catchers.
- And then there’s the fella who throws the ball, the quarterback. Important fella, that one.
Want to know when they’re playin’? Well, they got a schedule too. ESPN’s got that too, so they say. It tells ya when and where they’re playin’ their games. Gotta know when to cheer ‘em on, right?
Now, I heard they got a field called Pioneer Field. That’s where they play their home games, I guess. Sounds like a nice place to watch a game, if you’re into that sort of thing. Probably got some good seats, and some not-so-good seats, just like any other place.
I also heard somethin’ ‘bout an open date next Saturday. Don’t rightly know what that means, but maybe they ain’t playin’ that day? Maybe they’re restin’ up, or practicin’, or maybe they’re just havin’ a good ol’ time off. Who knows?
So, that’s about all I know about them Tusculum Pioneers. They’re a football team, playin’ in Division II, got a bunch of coaches and players, and play on a field called Pioneer Field.
