Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the MIAA Division 2 hockey scene lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a wild ride. I wanted to get a better handle on the teams, the schedules, the whole nine yards. Here’s how I went about it, from start to finish.
Getting Started: Finding the Info
First things first, I needed to find a reliable source of information. You know, something that had all the game schedules, scores, standings, the works. Just poking around Google wasn’t really cutting it at first. I needed a central hub.
Digging In: Organizing My Findings
Once I found what looked to be a decent starting point, that is, after looking for the MIAA website and the general resources for high school hockey, I started bookmarking stuff like crazy. I mean, seriously, I created a whole new folder in my browser just for this. I grabbed schedules, team rosters, even some news articles I stumbled across. It was kind of a mess at first, just a bunch of links.
Building It Out: Making Sense of it All
Then came the slightly tedious, but ultimately rewarding part. I started putting all this info into a simple spreadsheet. Nothing fancy, just columns for teams, dates, opponents, scores, locations, that kind of stuff. It took a while, let me tell you. Copying and pasting, formatting things so they looked halfway decent, double-checking to make sure I didn’t screw anything up. There are a lot of different games, many different teams, it’s been a lot.
The Results: What I’ve Got So Far
So, after all that digging and organizing, what do I have? Well, I’ve got a pretty solid, if slightly imperfect, picture of the MIAA Division 2 hockey season. I can see who’s playing who, when and where. I can track the wins and losses, and start to get a feel for which teams are the ones to watch.
- It’s a Work in Progress: I’m definitely not claiming this is perfect. There are probably some errors in there, maybe some missing games. But it’s a heck of a lot better than what I had before, which was basically nothing.
- It’s Ongoing: This isn’t a one-and-done kind of thing. I’m planning to keep updating this spreadsheet throughout the season. It will helps me to see the changes.
- It’s Useful:Now I’m able to check the match result in time, so I’m very happy with the result.
All in all, it was a bit of a project, but I’m glad I did it. Now, I’ve got my own little MIAA Division 2 hockey database, and that’s pretty cool. I learned a lot about organization too, and it was rewarding to create something usefully by myself.
